Polymer Compounding

Our compounding expertise includes highly loaded polymers containing glass, flame retardants,organic fillers. We've developed processes to feed and  incorporate powders, liquids and fibers into polymers creating high quality products. Click here for more information.

Reactive Extrusion

Our reactive extrusion capabilities include modification of polyolefins, molecular weight modification of polyesters, saponification to produce ionomers, transesterification to modify acrylate copolymers and more. Click here for more information.

Process optimization

We can analyze your compounding process and recommend a path forward to obtain the best product properties available. An optimized process based on the chemistry and properties of the raw materials will result in the optimum compounded product available. 

Translation and scale-up

It is critical that a product run on multiple compounding lines be identical such that processing and product differences not be detectable. This is especially critical during scale-up when a product is being qualified on a research line and then scaled to a production line that is likely a larger scale. Click here for more information.


Implementation of SPC/SQC

All processes have natural variation. The ability to produce a product within a defined target and range requirements is dependent on the ability to control the process variations around the target. Statistical process control and statistical quality control are easily implementable methodologies to provide operators with guidelines as to when best to adjust the process to maintain the product properties at their target values.

We can provide practical training on how to implement SPC and SQC in your process and develop  tailored charts that can be implemented by line or by product.

Process safety

Chemical hazards, physical hazards and thermal hazards all exist in a compounding process. It is critical that the operator understand the aspects of process safety to ensure that there are no injuries or equipment damage due to poor operation or lack or understanding of the process or hazards involved. We can help to develop a strong process safety program to ensure that your operators are aware of the hazards involved in your process and know how to respond to each situation.
